Our Programmes

At Hataitai After School Care, we offer both an after school programme for Hataitai School pupils as well as school holiday programmes that are open to all children in the local community.

We provide a safe and caring environment for your children that is also inclusive and engaging. While they are here, your children will enjoy creative activities where they can express themselves, exercise, relax, and have fun. In other words, we offer much more than simply looking after your child while you are at work.

We are only able to provide the level of care that we do because of the fantastic people on our team. We also have a one caregiver per 10 children policy, and each member of our team is passionate and committed to the work they do.

After School Care Programme

  • Available from after school finishes until 5.45pm
  • Your child will be supervised at all times
  • We provide a balanced afternoon tea each day
  • Regular and casual options are available

The activities your child will enjoy includes:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Outdoor play with games like four square and football
  • Interactive indoor games
  • Movies on wet days

School Holiday Programme

We run programmes for all children during school holidays. The activities include:

  • Day trips to places such as Wellington Zoo, Laser Force, the cinema, or the Kilbirnie Aquatic Centre
  • Themed activity days with onsite activities such as cooking, crafts and games
  • Activity days where we bring in exciting activities such as a petting zoo or a magician
  • Games days

Enrolment & Fees

HASCI operates as a not-for-profit organization and as such we aim to price our programme at an affordable level sufficient to cover costs.  Please find below details of our current fees and further details on the enrolment process.

The HASCI after school service operates over the ten-week school term. Enrolments are managed on a term by term basis. To be able to determine staffing levels and other costs, and to be able to bill and collect debt most efficiently, enrolment details are collected from parents in the term preceding.

A HASCI school holiday programme may be offered over the school holiday period (based on demand). Enrolments for school holiday programmes will be available from the time the programme is released. Booking early is encouraged to avoid disappointment as spaces fill quickly.

HASCI uses the AimyPlus online system for all enrolments. Enrolment via AimyPlus requires “acceptance of the terms and conditions”. This will be taken as confirmation that the caregiver creating the booking has understood and accepted the HASCI policy and procedures as outlined on AimyPlus and in our Policy and Procedures Manual.

Please note, we cannot accept enrolments where there is an outstanding balance from previous terms.

Fees will be invoiced once the booking has been confirmed by the Program Manager. Full payment details will be provided on the invoice sent.

HASCI can be used on a regular or casual basis. Regular bookings are considered the days enrolled for at the beginning of each term. Casual days are any days over and above those booked on a regular basis (at the start of the term) which are requested on an adhoc basis. Please note the cost of casual booking is a slightly higher rate to cover administration. The availability of casual bookings will be dependent on existing booking numbers and staffing.

Fees After School Care – Regular Bookings $18 per session / per child
After School Care – Casual Bookings $20 per session / per child
Holiday Programme $50 per day / per child
Holiday Programme – surcharge for trip/activity day $10 per day / per child
Late pick up fee* $1 per minute
Late pick up fees*

Children must be picked up by 5.45pm.  If a child is not collected by the end of the session a late pick-up fee will be incurred. The late pick-up fee is charged at a rate of $1 per minute for each minute beyond the required pick up time that a child remains in HASCI care. Late fees are calculated via AimyPlus based on the electronic sign out time and will be invoiced to parents. We do not expect and cannot accept on-the-spot cash payments for late pick-up fees.

Casual bookings are considered any days over and above those booked on a regular basis at the beginning of each term, which is requested on an adhoc basis. Please note the cost of casual booking is a slightly higher rate to cover administration. The availability of casual bookings will be dependent on existing booking numbers and staffing.  HASCI welcomes casual bookings and will accommodate where ever possible.

Bookings are essential to ensure we are meeting the correct staff-to-child ratio. Last-minute bookings may be possible depending on existing booking numbers and staffing. Please contact the Programme Manager to discuss last-minute booking options, hataitaiasci@gmail.com.

Absences

If you know that your child (or children) won’t be attending the service on a day that has been booked, please let HASCI know no later than 3pm for after school care, or prior to 9am for school holiday programmes.

Cancellations

HASCI operates as a not-for-profit organization and as such we aim to price our programme at an affordable level sufficient to cover costs. This does, however, mean we are unable to absorb costs associated with last-minute changes. For this reason, we are unable to offer credits for cancellations for regular bookings received with less than 2 weeks’ notice. There will be no credit on casual bookings. We appreciate your understanding on this point.

  • Regular bookings – More than 2 weeks’ notice given: Credit offered
  • Regular bookings – Inside 2 weeks’ notice given: No credit
  • Casual bookings:  No credit

Changes

Change should be advised to the Programme Manager as soon as possible and we will do everything possible to accommodate these requests.

  • Fees are payable in advance. Invoices will be sent as per your selection in AimyPlus. Any reminder notifications will be sent weekly until the invoice is paid in full.
  • Invoices will be provided via email. It is essential a current e-mail address is provided as part of enrolment.
  • For after school care bookings, the first payment is due before the child’s first attendance at after school care if booked for a regular session or immediately up receipt of the invoice if attending on a casual basis.
  • For school holiday programmes, full payment is required on confirmation of a booking request to secure a child’s place.
  • Full payment details will be provided on your invoice. Please ensure you use the invoice number provided and your child’s name as a reference against payments, so that it appears on our statement – this allows us to easily track payments.
  • Please note we are unable to offer credits for days booked where less than 2 weeks’ notice of non-attendance has been given, or on casual bookings.
  • We cannot accept enrolments where there is an outstanding balance from previous terms or where vital enrolment information requested has not provided.
